I speak to strangers everyday . It is simple here in my little corner of Melbourne . Everyone is at it from the very small children to 80 year olds . It’s bonkers and I adore it. Always have adored a random hello!

there is something beautiful about a moment of connection with a stranger or someone you see in your locale regularly but don’t know, it makes us uniquely human ,

It is good for your soul

So good

Agree! You, Leanne, have a very fine way of making conversation with all sorts of people. It’s definitely a talent and a skill.

I’d love to be with you in Melbourne right now x

I’m getting better at giving compliments to strangers, always women, and usually something about their clothes or style. I love it when I receive compliments from strangers so I’m paying it forward.

I love the fact that in London random conversations are so unexpected - it makes them all the more delicious (especially when pastries are involved, obvs).

Missing my dog very much now leads to lots of lovely interactions with dog owners while satisfying my urge for a dog fix.

I’m also looking forward to seeing I Swear, and maybe even it’s sequel I Sweat.. or the third in the trilogy, I Swing??

I swerve

I swell

I swarm

Oh, Nemo 😢. I totally agree that the unexpected conversations (like unexpected postcards) feel really special xxx and the pastries, though delicious, are quite predictable in my life now. Almost an everyday thing.

I told a girl in a shop today that I loved her nails, she seemed pleased.

As I gay man I have free reign to speak to women and to compliment them, it’s one of the great joys of being gay.

Walking dogs provides lots of opportunities for chats to strangers. But I also like to compliment a good outfit - though only to women. I know how lifted I’ve been by random compliments so it’s good to be brave. I take your point about the tube though - a bit complicated! Xx

Yes dogs and kids are great conversation starters. I personally love talking to strangers but it takes a bit of courage. Here’s to random compliments and their power to uplift
